Jeffrey Vargas

Jeffrey Vargas is a nationally known thought leader on workforce development, workplace culture and intergenerational collaborative intelligence. He is the founder and CEO of Generationology LLC a future of work leadership and professional development consulting firm. Jeff is a nationally known figure in the learning and development community and is widely identified as one of the nation’s experts on intergenerational collaborative intelligence and confident humility. Some of his clients include – The Defense Intelligence Agency, Sandia National Laboratories, United States Military Academy (West Point), the Food and Drug Administration and the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce
Before starting his own consulting practice, Jeff enjoyed a 22-year career in the federal government. He spent more than a decade at the Department of Energy where he designed, developed, and deployed strategic hiring and workforce development programs. He then served as the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). In that role he created the learning strategy and led and oversaw executive development, professional develop, and technical training for the 2500 employees of the nation’s nuclear weapons complex. His final role in government was as the CLO for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), a financial regulator that oversees the 600 trillion-dollar futures, options, and swaps financial marketplace. Jeff created a CFTC Strategic Learning Plan and oversaw all aspects of the CFTC’s learning and development programs.

Seeing the growing need for leadership and professional development specifically in healthcare, in 2021 Jeff cofounded the Healthcare Leadership Lab (HCLL). As the HCLL leader, he helps in the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge, healthcare specific, leadership and professional development workshops.

For more than 25 years Jeff has also been an active national leader in the Diversity and Inclusion community with a focus on the Hispanic community; serving as a lead advisor for the League of United Latin American Citizens Federal Training institute, a board member for the Alliance for Latinx Leadership and Policy and the Founder of the Hispanic Youth Symposium – a four-day, three-night leadership development program for Hispanic students.

Jeff has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, he is a graduate of Georgetown Universities Training Specialist Certificate Program and he is a graduate of the prestigious Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Today Jeff resides with his family in the suburbs of Denver Colorado where he also serves on the board of Globalminded, a Denver-based non-profit organization that helps first generation college students and young professionals overcome bias, learn the hidden workplace curriculum, and become world-class leaders.
